Hydraulic Oil Spill Cleanup On A Driveway

by | Nov 22, 2017 | Oil & Hydraulic Spill Cleanup

Hydraulic oil spills can be difficult to clean.

But if the job is done right, the hydraulic oil spill can be removed completely.

We got a call from a roofing company that had spilled hydraulic oil on a sidewalk that was only a week old. Needless to say, their client was pretty upset.

Hydraulic Oil Spill Cleanup On A Driveway – After

The air compressor the roofers were using to power their nail guns had a loose fitting and the crew didn’t notice it until the end of the day. By that time, the leaking air had sprayed the hydraulic oil around a large area.

The roofing company called us late Friday afternoon when they first saw the spill. We had a crew out there first thing Saturday morning to clean things up.

There are two important factors in getting an oil spill cleaned up correctly. The first is calling an experienced pressure washing company quickly before it has a chance to sit there and soak deeply into the concrete. Once the stain is soaked into the concrete, the chance of getting it out completely is much smaller.

The second factor in getting the hydraulic oil spill cleaned up is not making it worse. If you use some kind of cleaner that doesn’t do the job correctly, the oil can be partially dissolved and then soak deeper into the concrete. Then the chances of cleaning it completely are much lower.
