Pressure Washing Clients Have Different Needs

The hours can vary widely from early mornings to late starts to overnight work.  Weather can keep us from working for many days at a time and then we’ll get a warm up and have to put in long hours for days at a time to make up for what was lost.

Most of our staff has been with us for a few years, many for five or more. But some have joined us more recently.  One of our drivers started just a few weeks ago.  She has learned a lot, but there’s been a few mishaps.  We do our best to train our drivers to get the job done and we usually send new employees with experienced ones to help with the training.

We also try to keep up-to-date information on the paperwork we send out with our drivers.  This would work great except every driver gets used to taking care of their accounts a certain way and doesn’t always read the notes.  Even new pressure washing drivers sometimes get overconfident about how to take care of accounts and miss special instructions.

Our newest driver was sent to take care of a truck washing account early last Thursday.  The account is only 6 trucks but they’re not always parked right next to each other.  Our driver didn’t understand the instructions and only washed 3 units.  We had to send them back the next day and meet our quality manager to take care of the other three units.

It was another learning experience for our new pressure washing driver.

Even though it required an explanation and apology to our customer, it was a good reminder for everyone to make sure the instructions are accurate and our pressure washing drivers pay attention to them.

But it’s the details that keep us head and shoulders above our competition. Having managers to follow up and make sure our pressure washing and truck washing clients are taken care of is one of the many things that keeps our clients happy  with our service.

Every company makes mistakes. It’s how you deal with those mistakes that makes the difference.
