Pressure Washing An Airplane Hangar
Last week, we used pressure washing with water recovery to clean an airplane hangar.
The owner of the hangar at Centennial Airport south of Denver called us after he had a fuel spill. The hangar floor had been painted before the fuel spill but the fuel dissolved part of the paint and caused it to bubble up.
The owner had already cleaned the fuel leak and scraped the loose paint off. But he wanted us to pressure wash the whole floor of the hangar to get all the dirt and grime off.
We used pressure washing with a turbo tip to remove as much of the remaining loose paint and residue as we could. Most of it had been scraped off so there wasn’t much loose paint left.
A large portion of the work involved in this job was controlling the water flow so we could recover the waste water. Often times this involves squeegeeing the water to direct it to a central collection point where the vacuum can suck it up into the collection tank.
It’s illegal to let the waste water go down the storm drain so you have to recover the water and dispose of it properly. Fines start at $1000 and can be issued to everyone involved including the building owner.
Make sure you hire an experienced pressure washing company that knows what they’re doing so you don’t have any problems. We provide water recovery with our pressure washing service at no additional charge.
