Industrial Equipment Pressure Washing In Denver
We recently did some industrial equipment pressure washing for Contech Engineering Services.
They had a large arch press they wanted us to clean up. This equipment is used to change the shape of round culvert to an arch. The corrugated pipe comes from the steel mill in a circular shape. The corrugations are put in to make it stronger without having to make the whole wall as thick.
The corrugated pipe is often galvanized to prevent rust since it’s usually used to carry water and most of the time its installed under ground.
But some applications need the pipe to be a little shorter and wider than it is when it comes from the steel mill. That’s where the arch press comes in. You place the round pipe in the press and by applying pressure, it squeezes it into the shape of an arch – flatter on the bottom and wider. The pipe will still carry the same volume of water, it just allows more flexibility in different types of installations.
We do a lot of equipment pressure washing but this is the first time we’ve cleaned an arch press. While this job wasn’t that difficult, the advantage of having done so many different types of jobs is being able to figure out how to clean something you haven’t done before.
This equipment pressure washing job required water recovery to make sure the grease and oil from the press didn’t run across their parking lot and make a big mess. You can’t just wash an oily mess like this into the landscaping or storm drain, You have to dispose of it properly.
And since Contech Engineering Services has other machinery inside the building, they’re set up to handle the runoff and disposal of the grease and oil themselves. Any manufacturing business with this type of equipment has to be set up properly – especially a company as large as Contech.
So if you have a unique kind of equipment pressure washing job, give us a call. We’ve done hundreds of jobs and we can take care of you, too.
