Truck washing and trailer washing is usually the same procedure, no matter what kind of truck it is.

Two different styles of tank trailers

But some kinds of truck washing takes special procedures to do the job right. Tank trailers, more commonly called tankers, are one kind that takes a different approach.

It isn’t just the unique shape that makes the difference. Many tankers are made of aluminum and need special materials to keep them clean and shiny.

Most tanker fleets have box trucks, too.

And these materials have to be used properly to do the job right. If they aren’t, the aluminum can end up with streaks or blotches and look worse than before the cleaning was done.

While aluminum trailers look great when they’re new, if they aren’t cleaned and maintained properly, they can turn chalky white over time. If they get to that point, it can take a deep clean truck washing to get them back to looking new.

Most truck fleets have more than just one kind of truck. Even if their main business is hauling the kinds of materials that need to be carried in a tank trailer, most of the time they have box trucks or flatbeds, too. They have to be able to haul whatever their clients need hauled.

So a tanker fleet needs the special procedures for their tank trucks and trailers and regular washing for the rest of their fleet.

So if you have a truck fleet that needs more than just a basic truck washing, call a company with the experience and procedures to do the job right.
