Even truck wash bays need pressure washing after a few years of use.

The truck wash bay we cleaned a few weeks ago belongs to Arrow Stage Lines, a large bus charter company in business since 1928.  They only use it to wash their own mini-buses and motor coaches.

And since buses don’t usually get as dirty as local delivery trucks and over-the-road tractor trailers,  you can imagine how dirty truck washing bays can get over time.

The dirt, road grime, magnesium chloride, asphalt – and whatever else the highways can throw up onto vehicles – gets splattered onto the walls and floors, even the ceilings.

The moisture from the washing drifts all over and settles on every surface. The hot dirty mist sticks to everything. The dirty layers build up over time and can get pretty bad. It had been quite a few years since this wash bay had been cleaned.

On pressure washing jobs like this, we usually do a test patch or two to see how many layers there are.

It’s important to see just how much work will be needed to do a good job. Without that testing, you can’t give an accurate price – you’re only guessing. And that’s no way to treat your customers.

Building Interior Cleaning Takes More Than Just Pressure Washing

It usually takes more than just pressure washing to get interior surfaces like this clean. It often takes a lot of scrubbing, and some strong soap to get all the grime off.

Just like when you’re pressure washing a warehouse, you have to be aware of all the electrical connections, light fixtures, etc. to make sure you don’t short things out. Knowing the correct cleaning procedures for building interiors like this takes experience – and we have many years and hundreds of jobs under our belts.

And its important to know how to control the water flow. If you don’t, it can build up around the edges of the walls and ruin them. And if water recovery is required, you have to be able to recover the waste water – no matter how much there is – and dispose of it properly.
