Your Pressure Washing Company Does All That?
There are a lot of misconceptions of what pressure washing companies do.
I discovered this when I spent a few minutes talking to our representative with the Denver/Boulder BBB this morning.
I called her about an unrelated issue and somehow we started talking about websites. When she took a look at ours, she was amazed at all the different things we do. The environmental issues we deal with everyday were something she never thought of.
And it’s not surprising – many homeowners never use a pressure washing company so they never have a reason to think about it.
She just assumed we washed decks and patios. She never thought about how the auto dealers get all their cars cleaned, or how truck fleets get their trucks washed, or how to remove graffiti.
When I told her some of the stories about amateur pressure washing companies destroying the brick on 100 year old buildings, she started to realize there is much more to pressure washing than spraying things off.
She mentioned her HOA had sent a letter recently about not washing and letting the water run down the gutter. It gave me a chance to tell her about what we have to do to comply with all the water recovery issues. There are different permits and regulations for each city and wastewater district we wash in.
Very few people are aware of all the water right’s issues in Colorado. Many states in the western United States get their water from the Colorado Rocky Mountains. So how we deal with our wastewater – from pressure washing or anything else – affects millions of people downstream.
