The Holiday Inn called us for pressure washing service to remove paint from the ground around their entrance area.
It had only been there for two months and was already peeling off. It was clear the company that did the work didn’t prepare the surface properly so the paint would stick.
You have to make sure all the oil, grease and dirt is gone before you put paint on any surface. And the surface often needs to be roughed up so the paint has something to stick to. If it’s too slick, the paint won’t last very long – like in this instance.
This is the kind of pressure washing job that is tough to give a firm price in advance. You don’t know until you start how the paint will come off or how much time it will take.
So we gave our client the option of doing step one with just high pressure washing to see if it gave him the result he was looking for. This gave him a lot more control over how much money he would spend.
Most of our clients are businesses and every businessman has to watch his pennies in this economy. We go out of our way to be as cost effectively as possible.
We do every job with the idea that we want them to call us back in the future and refer other clients to our service. That’s the only way to stay in business for 27 years.
And while pressure washing along with a turbo tip got the loose paint off, there were areas where the paint was stuck pretty solid and didn’t come loose. So we scheduled the next phase for the following week – which included using paint remover.
We sent a water recovery unit both times to make sure we contained all the loose paint chips and disposed of them properly. Since the paint was only two months old, we didn’t have to worry about lead based paint making the job more complicated.
If you need pressure washing for paint removal or anything else, call a professional company that will work within your budget.
