We had two clients that needed power washing with water recovery yesterday – and it barely got above freezing!
One of our contractor clients was taking care of a multi-million dollar mansion for his clients – and they were having a large party that night. So they needed to get all the dirty snow residue on their large driveway power washed away .
Since all our trucks carry two hot water pressure washing machines, we were able to get it done before the party started – even though the temperatures kept us from starting until noon.
Another of our clients is a mining equipment dealer and they service their equipment as well. You can imagine how dirty a piece of heavy machinery gets when it spends a few months underground at a mine. So when this mining equipment comes in for service, they often need the mud and grease pressure washed off before they can service them.
And when the new equipment comes in from overseas, they’re often covered in a greasy film to protect them from the salt water while they travel by ship. Because they work in the mining industry, they’re on top of environmental issues. They even have an environmental specialist on staff at this location.
So they know they need to recover the wash water and dispose of it properly.
The bigger the organization, the more aware of the cost of getting on the wrong side of the EPA. So they make sure everything is done right. We even had the inspector for the South Adams County Water and Sanitation district come in and observe our procedures. He took samples of the waste water after we filtered it and had them tested before he gave us approval to dispose of the waste water on site.
It’s the Water and Sanitation districts that have to report their water quality to the EPA. So they’re the ones that have to approve our procedures, not the cities or the states. We work them so they know we do the job right, instead of trying to hide at night like some companies do.
