World Water Day Reminds Us Not To Take Our Water For Granted

We received an email today from Boulder County reminding us about World Water Day today.

Whether you agree with the United Nations policies or not, how we deal with water in Colorado is becoming much more of an issue than it has been.

And our company deals with water issues on a daily basis in many different ways.

We have an extremely efficient car washing procedure – less than two gallons per car – that allows us to save  thousands of gallons of water every day.

We have special procedures that allow us to wash boats at Chatfield Reservoir. We’re the only company the Colorado State Parks Department gives a permit to.

We do water recovery so the wastewater doesn’t get to the storm drains and run into the rivers.

And much of the western United States gets their water supplies from Colorado’s mountain snows – and we plow snow, too.

It’s easy to take our water for granted.  All you do is turn the tap and it comes out. But our company can’t take it for granted- and perhaps you shouldn’t either.

Celebrate World Water Day on Thursday, March 22

World Water Day

Thursday, March 22, is World Water Day, established by the United Nations to bring awareness to water issues worldwide. This year’s theme is “Water and Food Security,” which explores the connection between food production and water consumption.

World Water Day is also an opportunity to celebrate Boulder’s beautiful creeks and high-quality drinking water, which is available straight from the tap.

The City of Boulder’s Water Conservation Program and the Keep it Clean Partnership help bring people together to protect the community’s creeks and conserve its precious water resources. These organizations offer a variety of programs and services, including education, rebates, creek cleanups, speaking engagements and storm drain marking.
