Pressure Washing Contract With The City Of Longmont
We recently won a contract with the City of Longmont for general pressure washing services.
Out of five bidding companies, we were chosen because we have 3-man crews to do both pressure washing and wash water recovery. The other companies were unclear as to how they were going to do the pressure washing and water recovery with one or two man crews. If they couldn’t show how they were going to do the work, its obvious they’re not doing very much of it.
A big part of doing pressure washing with water recovery is having crews who know how to work together efficiently. You can’t get the job done with one guy standing around watching because he doesn’t know what to do. Our clients expect us to work quickly and efficiently to keep our charges as low as possible. To do that, our guys have to be trained to work together as a crew.
A company in any service industry has to reach a certain size before they can have managers to supervise and train the other workers. And it takes time and experience to develop the standards and training procedures. Our training and quality standards are one of the many things that put us ahead of our competition.
The City of Longmont has high standards for recovering water generated by pressure washing. Our experience and reputation for staying ahead of the curve on the regulations for recovery made the difference in getting the contract.
State, county and city governments are being more proactive in requiring recovery for pressure washing projects. Even over the past year we have noticed more clauses in requests for proposals expressing the requirements for recovery. It is more important now for pressure washing companies to stay on top of the regulations and best management practices for recovery.
All the regulations regarding pressure washing as it relates to water quality have recently been updated. More information is available now than it has been in the past and more and more companies and individuals are being educated about the regulations and how they apply to activities that no one used to consider detrimental to the environment.
Wash On Wheels strives to be the most informed company in Colorado when it comes to wash water discharge regulations and the best management practices to comply with those regulations.
