Building A New Waste Water Recovery Trailer
We get more and more calls for pressure washing with water recovery.
Since 2010 when the EPA published the Stormwater Action Plan, an update to the Clean Water Act of 1972, it has been illegal in Colorado to let the waste water from pressure washing go down the storm drain.
This means all pressure washing businesses have to recover the water, filter it, and dispose of it in the sanitary sewer – which goes back to the water treatment plant. The storm sewer goes straight into the rivers.
So we recently added another waste water recovery trailer to our fleet to keep up with the demand. Having a trailer we can pull behind our wash trucks is the most efficient way to get the job done.
This allows us to drop the water recovery trailer on the low side of a parking garage, warehouse, or whatever we’re cleaning, and move the wash truck to the other side and work towards the trailer.
Most large corporations are familiar with the need for waste water recovery on any pressure washing services they need. But some smaller companies that call us for cleaning are surprised when we tell them the waste water must be recovered and disposed of properly to avoid fines – for them and us.
While some don’t like the additional time it takes to do the job, most people understand why the regulations are necessary. And then there are those who just hang up and never call again.
Either they decided not to clean, or they called some little company that was willing to do the job without following the regulations.Don’t risk EPA fines – starting at $1000/day – by hiring a pressure washing company that doesn’t do the job right. Give us a call if we can be of service.
