Pressure Washing And The Changing Winter Forecasts

by | Jan 17, 2012 | Wash On Wheels News

We  brought in two three-man crews to pressure wash cars for auto dealers yesterday. But the weather didn’t turn out as planned and we had to cancel. If you watch the weather as closely as we do, I’m sure you’ve noticed the weather forecasts don’t seem to be as reliable as they used to be.

This day, it wasn’t supposed to get below freezing the night before and it was supposed to get to about 45 degrees in the afternoon. But it never even got above freezing for the high! Try planning your schedule with that kind of variations.

We brought in our car wash crews for an 8am start, then sent them home without pulling the trucks out. Of course, they got paid for the time they were here – but it’s still frustrating for all concerned.

We’re all aware that the mountains to the west of Denver make it hard to know what the weather will do. Sometimes it stops in the mountains or turns a different direction. And sometimes it builds and comes over with a vengeance.

I’ve heard that the National Weather Service is using a computerized model without experienced weathermen to check it. I’m not sure if that’s true or not. But I am sure they don’t have anywhere near the accuracy they did a few years ago.
