One homeowner needed driveway pressure washing after they tried to clean it themselves – and it didn’t look like they wanted.

They tried to remove some rust-looking stains and the driveway looked worse than before they touched it.

One of the most common stains on driveways and sidewalks is spots that look like rust. They’re usually caused by iron from the lawn fertilizer that landed where it shouldn’t. Since most applications of lawn fertilizer use a spreader that flings the little pellets in a wide arc, they often land on the adjacent concrete.

Unfortunately it can look terrible, like the home isn’t taken care of. And if you live in a neighborhood where your neighbors take pride in their homes, the comparison makes it look worse.

One homeowner called us after they tried to clean it themselves – and found out it isn’t as easy as it looks. They finally found something to remove the rust stains – but it left the driveway looking spotted and worse than if they had done nothing at all.

We applied a different material to the lighten the whole driveway so the areas they had cleaned wouldn’t stand out like huge blotches. They were very happy with the result. The picture at the right shows the driveway before it was completely dry. More pictures are in the gallery below.

Here’s the email they sent us:

Hello Josh,

I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how pleased we are with the services your company provided in cleaning up the stains on our driveway last Wednesday. The driveway looks like new again and the crew you sent out did a great job. Our special compliments go out to Rhea who went all the way to ensure the best results possible.

We will certainly recommend your company to our friends and want to thank you and your staff again.

Best regards,
