But what we do for our clients is clean things. And if it takes something besides pressure washing to get the job done, that’s what we do.

Most jobs require more than just pressure washing things off.  Cars need to be chamoised dry, trucks need to be scrubbed with soap and a brush, removing graffiti takes applying the correct material in the right way.

So when we had to come up with a different procedure to clean the Washington Park Boathouse for the Denver City Parks Department, we were ready.

Water recovery is needed to keep the wastewater from getting into the lake

Last year, we used our pressure washers and recovery units to do the cleaning. The boathouse is right next to the lake so you have to control the wastewater.

There are hundreds of lights on the eaves at the top of the boathouse. And while they are sealed, they’re not watertight when you’re spraying with a 3500-psi pressure washer.

No matter how careful you are, a little bit of water will seep into some of the lights. Normally we just leave the power off for a few days until it dries.

A high capacity compressor was needed to supply enough air pressure

But this year, the Denver City Parks Department wanted to make sure no water got into the lights. So we rented a high capacity air compressor and blasted around the lights. And we had to use a scissor lift to get close enough to get the air right next to the surface to be effective.

Fortunately, there isn’t much dirt under the eaves. It’s mainly spider webs, bird feathers, and light dust. So high capacity air works well for this situation. The rest of the building was power washed just like last year.
