Power Washing Your Landscaping
We got a call for an emergency power washing job – for landscaping!
While we weren’t actually power washing the landscaping, it was a unique use of our power washing equipment.
One of the Target Stores in Denver had their sprinkler system go out right before a holiday weekend. And temperatures were going to be in the 90’s. Since the grass was already turning brown, they were concerned it wouldn’t survive until the repairs were made.
The company that takes care of the landscaping maintenance for Target stores called to see if we could help. They had a special permit allowing them to water as needed during the drought restrictions.
We had done work for them before at other Target stores. We had done power washing on sidewalks, trash compactors, and other various jobs at different stores. And they called us because they knew our power washing trucks carried 500 gallons of water and could spray the water onto the lawn.
They wanted us to send as many trucks as possible to put down as much water as we could. They didn’t realize we had meters and permits with Denver Water to hook up to the fire hydrants and refill our tanks.
So a couple of our drivers volunteered to work over the holiday to water the lawn. By the end of the three-day weekend, we had put 12,000 gallons of water down across the lawn, focusing on the driest areas first.
This wasn’t the kind of power washing job we normally do. But when our clients need something done, we go out of our way to take care of them.
