One of the Denver car dealers we work with took a Ford Van in trade and asked us to help with the decal and wrap removal.
The van had come up from Texas and the wrap was a mess. The wrap was in the worst shape we had ever seen. The Texas heat and sun had baked it and the wrap had cracked into little pieces.
This is the kind of situation that having extremely high pressure pumps comes in handy.
It’s amazing what 180 degree water at 4000psi can do!
That is 4-5 times more pressure than the 700-800psi you typically see at the local car wash. But you have to know how to work with it so you don’t cause damage. You can take the paint off if you’re not careful.
There was quite a few hours in getting all the little pieces off. You can’t just run over it quickly. You have to go inch by inch to get everything.
Then you have to go back over the whole van and make sure you get all the glue residue off. It doesn’t always come off with just hot water and pressure. Sometimes it takes a little elbow grease.
The dealer was very happy with the result. They had a van they could be happy to put on their lot with a for sale sign.
