Peterbilt tractor

We had a driver come through Denver today with a Peterbilt tractor that had been abandoned by the previous driver.

He wanted to get the interior detailed while he was waiting for his next load so it didn’t cost him any time. We were able to adjust our schedule to get his truck shining at a time that worked for him.

How he got this truck it was an interesting story. It turns out the company he drives for flew him from Salt Lake City to Dayton, Ohio, where the previous driver abandoned it. He said his company had five other drivers on the same mission to different parts of the country.

I understand someone switching companies and not wanting to have to get all the way back to the home terminal. It can be very expensive to switch companies when you’re an over-the-road driver.

But just imagine what it cost this company for this one truck. They had to buy an airline ticket to fly him there, then a taxi to get him to the truck. They had a tow and storage fee for the truck, a few thousand in repair bills, and the charge for detailing the inside of the filthy one year old Peterbiilt.

So it cost this company a few thousand dollars because the truck was abandoned by an inconsiderate driver. Hopefully, they’ll post his record where other companies can find it before they hire this nitwit!

But that’s just my opinion.
