Special Truck Washing For Budweiser’s Clydesdales trucks in Breckenridge

The truck wash was scheduled for July 1 in Breckenridge, about 85 miles west of Denver in the Rocky Mountains. And we go wherever our clients need us to.

The reason this special truck wash was scheduled for July 1 was because the Clydesdales were in town to be part of the July 4th parade and fireworks display.

Breckenridge is a year-round resort town with skiing in the winter and all sorts of activities in the summer. They have mountain biking, trail runs, horse riding, an art district and many other special events for the holidays.

Budweiser’s Clydesdales on display in Breckenridge for their Fourth of July parade

Our truck left our shop first thing in the morning heading west on US 6 through Denver. They went up I-70 through Morrison, and down through the construction in the tunnels before Idaho Springs. They ran past the old gold mines and the lake down by Georgetown.

Our three-man crew went over the Rocky Mountains and through the Eisenhower–Johnson Memorial Tunnel. They came out of the tunnel and went down through Dillon and Silverthorne. They exited I-70 onto US9 and went down past Lake Dillon through Frisco.

As we came into town, one of the Budweiser representatives was waiting to direct us to where the trucks were parked. They had an area right next to the tents that held the horses.

That was why they wanted us to do a deluxe truck wash to make the trucks and tractor-trailers look as nice as possible. They would be on display along with the Clydesdales for the next few days while festivities built up to the Fourth of July parade down Main Street.

We gave them a deluxe truck wash, giving special attention to the chrome and making everything shine. They also asked us to bring our water recovery trailer to make sure there wasn’t any runoff into areas where it shouldn’t go. Then we applied some tire shine to make the tires show ready.

When we went inside the tent to see the Clydesdales, it was their lunchtime so we didn’t get the best view! Back before trucks were used, the Clydesdales were used to haul the delivery wagons that brought Budweiser to the bars and restaurants across America. Ever since, they’ve been associated with Budweiser and they ‘re very popular wherever they go.
